However, if you are not interested in developing a more rigorous exercise routine, you can always stick with the common cardio work out to burn fat which is walking.

By walking three to five times a week on top of a good diet you will burn fat at a much slower rate but it will get you in shape and keep your weight off if you stick to the routine.

Also, if you are into exercises like yoga, you can build muscle tone and endurance while burning fat without having to follow a rigorous routine. Swimming is another less intense total body workout to burn fat that serves to tone and strengthen the muscles as well as burn off unwanted fat.

So, the choice is up to you as to what kind of workout to burn fat program will work for you and your lifestyle. Just remember that if you want instant results you will have to do the high intensity cardio work out programs, but if you want to remain on a lower intensity routine then expect your results to come at a much slower pace.
